How do I approach my neighbors about my new fence installation?Generally, if your fence falling down or in disrepair, your neighbor also wants the fence replaced. Make them aware of the intention to replace the fence and keep them informed. If necessary, Mike and his team can help with the communications and discuss the process with everyone involved.
-
What if my neighbor doesn't want a fence? You have the right to replace your fence if you feel it is necessary. You should provide them with 3 quotes from 3 different contractors and they should pay the average of the 3 quotes. You can still go with the contractor of your choice but may have to pay the difference yourself. If you have a pool, a small child or a dog, having a proper fence is necessary for safety and security. Check for fencing by-laws in your municipality for further details.
-
Do I need a permit for a new fence or decking in Ontario?Fencing - No. We will need to get dig locates prior to construction. This is all a part of our service. Decking - Maybe. If your deck is low to the ground and relatively small, you can build this without a permit. If you deck is large and/or raised from the ground, you will need a permit. Check with your local municipality for rules and regulations around deck permits. It is the responsibility of the homeowner to get a permit before the project starts. Michael and his team are very thorough and friendly. If you have any further questions, Michael will be able to answer them for you.
